Welcome to MRCS
We aim to provide a long term alternative to fostering for teenage boys who cannot live with their families. Our small team of experienced carers offer sensitive and responsive care, enabling them to develop inner controls, respect for self and others and to take responsibility for their actions. Our care team aim to meet the development needs of young people and, through the use of individual assessment, support, guidance and opportunities, help them to explore and address their individual needs with a comprehensive care plan.
Our well-regarded experience of looking after young people offers local authorities, social workers and youth offending teams a safe and immediate solution when seeking to accommodate young people whose personal circumstances or behaviour may make them difficult to place. We prioritise the protection and safety of young people placed with us.
About Us
We specialise in caring for teenage boys up to 18 and sometimes beyond, helping them to navigate the transition from being looked after to independent living.
Established in 1984, McRae residential Care Services have long provided care, support and education for children and young people up to and 18, who may also require enhanced levels of care, i.e. additional 1:1 special support. We believe that as the children we encounter grow and progress developmentally, they will acquire new intellectual and emotional skills to enable them to address past traumas with new levels of understanding.
We have a recognised dedication to nurturing young people, addressing their very specific needs and achieving effective outcomes for them. We are externally recognised by Ofsted, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services and Youth Offending Services and we enjoy preferred provider status with a number of local authorities.
