Welcome to MRCS

We aim to provide a long term alternative to fostering for teenage boys who cannot live with their families. Our small team of experienced carers offer sensitive and responsive care, enabling them to develop inner controls, respect for self and others and to take responsibility for their actions. Our care team aim to meet the development needs of young people and, through the use of individual assessment, support, guidance and opportunities, help them to explore and address their individual needs with a comprehensive care plan.

Our well-regarded experience of looking after young people offers local authorities, social workers and youth offending teams a safe and immediate solution when seeking to accommodate young people whose personal circumstances or behaviour may make them difficult to place. We prioritise the protection and safety of young people placed with us.

Expertise

At the heart o f our service is a commitment to addressing the presenting need with responsive and coordinated solutions, based on our extensive experience in working with children and young people displaying various and diverse needs.

The registered manager of the homes is a registered social worker and the senior management team hold 63 years combined experience in working with children and young people within a variety of public and private sector settings.

For 30 years McRae Residential Care Services has worked with some of society’s most difficult and challenging young people. Our children’s homes and school provision have assisted Local Authorities in meeting the care and educational needs of the most difficult to place young people.

Our success is based on adopting a model which identifies the unique needs and circumstances of each young person and providing a tailored programme of care that motivates, supports and enables them to achieve positive outcomes. At the same time we recognise and promote the need to work in partnership with a range of agencies to ensure a complete care package is available and delivered at times when young people need it the most.
