Welcome to MRCS

We aim to provide a long term alternative to fostering for teenage boys who cannot live with their families. Our small team of experienced carers offer sensitive and responsive care, enabling them to develop inner controls, respect for self and others and to take responsibility for their actions. Our care team aim to meet the development needs of young people and, through the use of individual assessment, support, guidance and opportunities, help them to explore and address their individual needs with a comprehensive care plan.

Our well-regarded experience of looking after young people offers local authorities, social workers and youth offending teams a safe and immediate solution when seeking to accommodate young people whose personal circumstances or behaviour may make them difficult to place. We prioritise the protection and safety of young people placed with us.

Vision and Values
● Culturally sensitive care
● Fostering positive identities
● Achievement in education
● Responsive practice
● Helping young people heal

MRCS provides residential care with a strong emphasis on improving the life chances of those placed with us. We earn our right to speak into the lives of the young people we look after by building warm, honest and genuine relationships with them. We are dedicated to doing whatever necessary to ensure a successful placement. While in our care, we promote a young person’s social, emotional, moral and spiritual development.

Our values are:-
● Culturally sensitive care is provided in small group care environments for male teenagers from any inner city community.  Placements are offered as a positive alternative to foster care, where individual needs are addressed.
● Fostering positive identities in our young people is a crucial part of our ethos and day-to-day interactions with male teenagers transitioning to young adulthood.
● Achievement in education is a priority outcome for us. We seek to provide placement stability and routines that enable our looked after young people to focus on achieving in education.
● Responsive care characterises our practice, as we recognise each young person we look after is a unique individual with specific needs and circumstances.
● Helping young people heal by coming to terms with earlier trauma is at the heart of our care aims. We seek to offer an alternative care experience for the male teenagers placed with us. With our approach of unconditional positive regard, we believe that as those we look after grow and progress developmentally,
